Web Designer

Job Description
The Web Designer is responsible for designing and implementing the overall user experience for multiple external-facing websites. The successful candidate will collect business requirements, create wireframes and design mockups, receive and implement feedback, and code the approved designs using HTML and CSS. The Web Designer will be part of the company*s Web Team and work with Developers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other business units within the company.
This is a 6 month contract involving at least 1 new website and a set of existing websites. Candidates will be asked to submit a portfolio or examples of website and/or design work.

Requirements:

* 5+ years of designing websites
* Expert level HTML and CSS
* JavaScript, and AJAX experience
* Experience in creating fluid and fixed div-based HTML layouts
* Can create cross-browser compatible websites for IE6+, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari
* Experience in creating layouts for ASP.NET pages
* Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop minimum)
* Experience in creating Wireframes, Design Compositions, and other design documentation
* Usable knowledge in analyzing and interpreting Web Analytics
* Experience with Content Management Systems and web publishing
* Experience managing or contributing to Corporate Intranets and Public Websites
* Experience with content workflows and web publishing
* Excellent communication skills * the successful candidate will communicate directly with business units

Nice To Have
* Professional Certifications in Usability and/or UI
* Expression Blend and Prototyping
* Experience with XAML and Silverlight
* Experience with Flash and streaming video
* Video Codecs, Formats, and Editing
* Experience in User Experience (UX) Testing
* Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization
* ASP.NET C# code behind
* Experience with Telerik RAD Controls for ASP.NET
* Sitecore CMS
* Knowledge of the Dental, Life, and Disability Insurance business
* Familiarity with the Scrum Agile development methodology
Familiarity with Subversion source control
