Art Instructor

a. Job Title: Art Instructor

b. Rate or Range of Pay per Hour:
c. Begin and End Dates: As soon as they are available
(The week of August 19 – 23 is the first week of school)

d. Work Schedule Days and Hours: If we can have them 3-5 days a week that would be ideal.
Mon, Wed and Friday would be the scheduled days from 4pm-6pm and Friday 3pm - 5pm.

e. Total Hours/Week: 5 days a week x 2 hours a day = 10 hours a week. (OR)
3 days a week x 2 hours a day =6 hours a week.

f. Description of Duties:
o Instructs students in art, such as painting, sketching, designing, and sculpturing.
o Prepares lesson plans and establishes course goals.
o Selects books and art supplies for courses.
o Demonstrates method and procedure to students.
o Observe and evaluate students work to determine student progress or to make suggestions
o Accompanies students on field trips to museums or art galleries.
o May specialize in teaching one or more areas of art i.e. illustration, or commercial art.
o May direct planning and supervision of student contests and arranging of art exhibits.
g. Qualifications and Experience (indicate preferred or required)
o Working towards Degree in Fine Art (preferred/required)
o Classroom Management/experience working with youth and teens (preferred)
o Strong planning and Organizational skills (required)
