Job Purpose:

Provide insight into the effectiveness of the pricing strategies through various forms of analyses, using a variety of systems and sources. Track competitive reactions and measure the effectiveness of pricing strategies, using internal/external market data.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
2. Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
3. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience industry experience with a sound understanding of merchandising and retail.
4. Minimum (three to five) 3-5 years of related experience.
5. Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
6. Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain same.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Strong PC skills including working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
2. Working knowledge and proven experience in retail or grocery.
3. Advanced user of microstrategy desktop and the enterprise data warehouse, with the skill to be able to complete ad hoc reporting not available through the dashboards or power workbench.
4. Self starter and results oriented; ability to work individually or in a team environment.
5. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and frequent changing priorities.
7. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
8. Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively with the most senior levels of management.
9. Excellent analytical abilities used to craft unique reporting solutions for management.
10. High propensity to collaborate when performing analysis or problem solving.
11. High standard of integrity and reliability.

Responsibilities

Primary (Essential) Job Functions

1. Coordinate the competitive retail data collection with third-party vendor and IT.
2. Evaluate regular retail pricing strategies at the department and category level, and work with the department heads and business units to develop and manage strategies.
3. Maintain price integrity as it relates to retail maintenance and backstage procedures and processes.
4. Provide ad hoc reporting to assist in the development of strategies, including reporting on the cost of the strategy to sales, labor costs of the one time change, item level reporting to assist the business units in implementing the strategy and post reporting of the strategy.
5. Conduct trend reporting for senior management and board on key strategies.
6. Work with various departments to develop, maintain and report on the sensitivity code lists, store zone moves, cluster reporting and mapping.
7. Work closely with the merchandising and marketing senior analysts to monitor effectiveness of the strategies using internal and external data.
8. Develops and implements management directed reporting for directors and VPs.
9. Monitors market trends and pricing events.
10. Work with IT and various departments on all projects related to pricing, clustering, mapping and rules-based pricing.
11. Implement new pricing reporting.
12. Ability to meet attendance requirements.
